These invitations combine Amelia's button theme used for much of the wedding decorations with an assemblage of ampersands, gathered from nearly all the available typefaces at the Atlanta Printmaker's Studio.
The quote on the invitation, from Diane Ackerman, reads, "The heart is a museum filled with the exhibits of a lifetime's loves." The wedding was held at the Levine Museum of the New South in Charlotte, NC.
Favor notes for the wedding guests were also printed. Amelia had the great idea, instead of buying some disposable gift for her guests, to make a donation in each guest's name to The Family Equality Council, which "works to ensure equality for LGBT families", an issue very close to Amelia's heart.
The quote on the favor, from Rainer Maria Rilke, reads, "For one human being to love another; that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation."
Congratulations Amelia and Peter!
